Packaging

We're continually making steps to move toward packaging that includes less waste and plastic, with more compostable, or easily recycled, products. In February 2019 we began using packaging paper for wrapping yarn that is being sent to U.S. addresses (we still use self-seal plastic bags for international shipments to help prevent issues with humidity and resulting mildew due to the travel distance and time.) All packages are still shipped in poly-mailers for water protection, but we're hoping to soon transition into using water-resistant compostable mailers for greater Earth-saving consciousness. 

In March 2019 we're seeing the end of our supply of mini self-seal plastic bags (which are used to hold our business card, loyalty stickers, and a sampler pouch of Eucalan*) going out the door and hope to have these transitioned over into paper envelopes by Summer 2019. 

Shipping

At this current time, most shipping is done within 5 business days (business days are Tues-Sat) of order received.  The only exception to this is pre-orders, needles, and clubs - please see shipping estimate in the description of pre-order listings.

Please inquire directly through email prior to purchase if you're requiring insurance on an international shipment, as some countries do not have this available. If it is found to be available for you at a cost you're comfortable with, I'll add a special listing for you for the insurance amount.

Shipping Days: Postal pickup has now resumed! We have package pickup on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays now, and will occasionally do our own post office drop offs on other weekdays.

Shipping Confirmation: All domestic packages will have a tracking code that will be available to you via email within 24 hours of shipment. Tracking codes may not work immediately, as they often don't have any data until after the USPS scans them and uploads their scans, which is sometimes hourly in their route, and sometimes doesn't occur until after 8 p.m. local time.

Returns & Exchanges

In case of items lost through USPS, you must file a claim with USPS for the lost package. We aren't responsible for packages lost and as a small business, we're unable to replace items lost at our own cost. In the case of damaged items upon arrival, this will be handled on a case by case basis. Returns will not be accepted on any orders with the exception of case by case actions on damaged items, which will typically result in an exchange once USPS claims are filed and awarded.

International Shipments

Calculating prices for shipments outside of the United States is sometimes difficult. We've used all the best tools at our disposal through USPS (the cheapest option for packages under 15 pounds) to estimate the shipping prices as accurately as possible, but sometimes these tools fall short, especially when combining more than one item in a package. Please be assured that any shipping cost of $1 USD or more that is OVERCHARGED will be refunded to you within 48 hours of your shipment being mailed. Starting in May of 2019, we no longer ship international orders through first class mail, instead only shipping through Priority Mail. This is more costly, but includes extended tracking and insurance, which I've found to be necessary as too often packages outside the United States will go missing for over 8 weeks before eventual delivery.
